Family Promise is an organization that seeks to "engage community and faith-based organizations in ending homelessness... one family at a time."  Host churches provide meals and shelter to families in Genesee County who have been screened by Family Promise of Genesee County.  Where many other shelters split families according to gender, Family Promise seeks to keep families together.

Fenton United Methodist Church became a host church in 2015.  Along with our support church, Transfiguration Lutheran Church in Fenton, we feed, shelter and share in community with families in the Family Promise of Genesee County program for one week, four times a year.  Volunteers are needed to cook and serve meals, host our families, wash linens, set up and clean up our facilities and be overnight hosts during our Family Promise weeks.
